Communications and Multimedia Manager Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust

Before starting out as a freelancer, I worked  full-time in NHS communications (November 2004 to June 2011)

My role included managing projects with external and internal client teams; producing printed information in the form of brochures, leaflets, posters and annual reports for stakeholders and the general public.

I was also responsible for the management, development and daily maintenance of the website, staff intranet and monthly e-magazine.

Conducting interviews with staff and visitors, writing articles, creating illustrations and photography for the monthly e-magazine was key to the role and one of my favourite responsibilities. 

Other aspects of the role included:

  • Project costs negotiations with suppliers and printers.
  • Communications planning
  • Staff training
  • Design of corporate screensavers
  • Event banners  and merchandise design
  • Creating presentations for bid teams and keynote speakers.
